Junior Achievement Job Shadow Day
In 2008, Schleuniger, Inc. hosted sixteen students from a local New Hampshire middle school. This was Schleuniger’s sixth year participating in this event. The goal was to show the students the real ‘working’ world and how a local business is vital to the region’s economy.
The students were divided into two groups and had a company tour where they learned the different aspects of our business. In the demo room, they processed wire samples and learned how the machines work. In the marketing department, they had the opportunity to see how an advertising campaign is created and initiated. Afterward, they spent an hour experiencing the order process from acquiring the customer purchase order, credit check/approval, packaging, pre-shipment inspection, and finally the shipment of the goods.
At the end of their ‘work’ day, everyone enjoyed pizza and ping pong…because a job is not only working hard, but also having fun with your colleagues! |
